Replication Manager Oracle integration with SnapClone of Mirrorview Secondary - Design Question

Hi all,

Is RM capable of creating and mounting a Oracle replica in the following environment:

Site A

CX/VNX primary

Oracle AIX prod server

Mirrorview/S between sites.

SiteB

CX/VNX secondary

Oracle AIX Test/Acceptance server with DR role

Goal is to use RM to create snapclones from the MirrorView secondary image on site B and mount them to the AIX server on site B as Test/Acceptance DB (and refresh this DB regurlarly).

In case of a disaster the Test/Acc DB will be stopped and the MV/secondary has to be promoted to primary. Can RM also assist here?

Thanks!

Are you talking about HACMP?  Is the Site B Database in Standby Mode?

If yes. I believe you will need an RPQ from Replication Manager Engineering.

That configuration is supported by RM, but as Ed mentioned, if you are using HACMP you would need to do an RPQ with engineering.  I would recommend checking the RM support matrix on elabnavigator for the full compatibility details.  For the promotion of the secondary server, RM can assist by mounting and attaching the DB, but you would have to manually do the promotion as it only supports VNXe or Celerra environments for RM-managed promotion.
