Replication Manager & Hyper-V

Hi there,

I'm trying to find out if you can do the following with Replication maanger and Hyper-V:

  • Do machine level restore like you can with VMware using the proxy
  • Do a file level restore
  • Snapshot of CSV
  • Replication of CSV

I've read all the documentation but it's all pretty old, can anyone help?

Regards,

Ed

Sorry you lost the deal.

So far, the only response I have to your original questions is:

*****

No support for any of that as far as I can remember.

The only supported configuration is within the VM’s and the storage configured with SCSI pass thru devices or MSFT iSCSI initiator.

*****

Since you mentioned VSI, the only other thing I can think of is that AppSync does do stuff with VSI and VMware

but it DOES NOT do anything with Hyper-V yet.  Maybe in the furture you can keep an eye on both RM and AppSync to see if either would help you.

Your right, the documentation I found is a little thin when it comes to answering your questions.

I do not beleive that RM supprts Clustered Shared Volume (CVS) at this time. I will check around to see if I can find out info about the restore questions.

I've been in contact with a couple TC's and there really is nothing there, all the focus has been on VMware so little or no development has been done with Hyper-V. Annoying as the VSI style integration Equallogic has with HV lost me a deal.

Thanks for the help, guess we'll just have to watch the horizon.
