How to migrate a existing SRDF setup?
Any suggestions on how I can migrate a existing SRDF setup(R1-R2) on DMX3 to new setup (Servers + New Array VMAX) with minimum downtime?

Any suggestions on how I can migrate a existing SRDF setup(R1-R2) on DMX3 to new setup (Servers + New Array VMAX) with minimum downtime?

Hi Cherus,
You can create same size of hypers/meta on VMAX on R1 side and you need to create session between existing DMX-3 R1 devices and since this new VMAX will be on the same site so this will be in synchronous replication. Once replication will be completed you need to take down time.
1. After that split the relation between r1( DMX-3 ) and VMAX devices.
2. present these ( VMAX ) r1 devices to the servers.
3. Swap the personality of VMAX devices from r2 to R1.
4. create dynamic rdf devicesof same size on VMAX2. ( other side).
5. create SRDF relation between VMAX R1 and VMAX R2 Devices.
