Hi Guys,

No Muhammad, SRM is incompatible with RP4VMs as SRM is working on a per LUN basis via SRAs (Storage Replication Adapters, there's one for classic RP as well) and a per VM basis only for VR.

RP4VMs has it's own orchestration engine, unrelated to SRM's one.

Hope that helps,

Yes, vRPAs of classic RP can be used with SRM.

Classic RP vRPAs can only work with VNX/VNXe and Unity based splitters where the communication b/w the vRPAs and the array is over iSCSI (so, there should an iSCSI SLIC on the array).

Thank you so much for your help, do you have vRPA with SRM reference architecture guide or any material to help me for implementation.

There are some RP/SRM legacy docs on Dell EMC Online Suppport. pRPA or vRPA is irrelevant.

Hi Idan,

I am reading the RecoverPoint Fundamental Doc and according to it, unity does not support vRPA(Classic).

This is not the case. vRPAs are supported on all of the mid-range arrays which includes VNX, VNXe and Unity. Check out the RP with Mid-Range Array Technical Notes doc on Dell EMC Online Support.
