RP4VM

Hi there!

Can we have both RP/EX and RP4VM licenses co-existing for my ScaleIO architecture?

Thanks

RP and RPVM are different products so if you have RP4VMs VM license, it's sufficient to protect VMs, no need for any other license.

Hope that clarifies things - contact me off list if you want to discuss further.

Hi,

RPVM licenses are for RPVM and RP/EX licenses are for classic RP. These are two different products (built on the same replication engine) and licensing schemes.

RP4VMs is completely storage agnostic - any storage that VMware supports on their HCL, RP4VMs would support as well. SIO included of course.

Classic RP supports most of DellEMC arrays and 3rd party storage via VPLEX (full list and details on the classic RP simple support matrix).

Hope that helps,

Thanks Idan.  Since RP4VM is storage agnostic and calculated based on number of VMs, do I also need to have RP/EX for capacity? are RP/EX and RPVM mutually exclusive?

Thanks!
