enable SSH on vRPA's and Cluster - Recoverpoint Appliance Version 5.3.1

I am managing 2 clusters and 4 vRPA's accross 2 locations. I seem to be able to connect to 1 cluster and it's 2 vRPA's but the second cluster does not allow an SSH connection. I have been through the normal troubleshooting of accessing the vRPA's via remote console and then attempted to enable SSH via - Setup -> Advanced options -> Security options -> Enable/Disable remote connection -> Answer y to enable remote access. The problem i have is that i do not have the Enable/Disable remote connection option available on my console window. I have tried to see if i could access that option on the cluster IP but the result is the same. There is also a mention of using something called the Boxmgmt logon but i have never set this up and also cannot connect via this option.

The object behind wanting to connect via SSH is so i can run a script on each of the vRPA's before i upgrade from 5.3.1 to 5.3.1.1.

Any help or guidance is highlight appreciated.

Hi,

Are they both on the same subnet? Are you local to the one that works and not to the one that doesn’t? Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Hi,

Sorry for the late response. I did not receive an email notification advising that someone had responded to my post.

Yes they are both on the same Subnet and can be pinged. The first cluster can be access via SSH and the 2 RPA's that sit within that cluster. The secondary cluster can also be pinged as well as the 2 RPA's within that cluster. The only issue that the second cluster cannot be access via SSH but can be access via vCenter console connection. The problem is that i need to deploy a script and can only do this via SSH. I don't have a clipboard option any other way

Hello Storage_Tech,

I would open a support case so that we can look into this a little deeper.

Hi @Storage_Tech,

Most likely it's because remote access was enabled by support on some of the vRPAs. This access is disabled by default and can enabled on a per vRPA basis through boxmgmt CLI as stated.
