Change Vcenter Server

Hello,

I want use RecoverPoint for VM and it's license depend on Vcenter ID.

we'll migrate windows vcenter to appliance vcenter 6.5 and deploy HA for vcenter, so you'll have two vcenter servers with two new ID.

what do i do for RecoverPoint in this scenario?

Hi there,

Hi agree with Rich, we're planning to qualify vCHA and vCenter migration soon.

To your question, when migrating to 6.5 using the 6.5 vCenter migration capability, the vCenter UUID should remain so licensing shouldn't be changed. Same goes for vCHA which would maintain the vCenter UUID.

If the UUID changes b/c of a new install/different reason, then the license can be rehosted to a new ID using support.emc.com.

Hope that helps,

vCHA has not yet been qualified with RP4VMs.
