Hi Saul_K,

The SMI-S is used to discover Brocade and McDATA switches in ProSphere.

From the ProSphere deployment guide the CMCNE will discover and report back on McDATA switches.

The standalone Brocade SMI Agent for EOS Products v2.7.2 for mcdata switches is not listed in the ProSphere Support Matrix so do not use this to discover the mcdata switches.

Please use the Integrated SMI Agent which comes with CMCNE.

Brocade offers the Integrated SMI Agent that combines management of both FOS and M-EOS devices into a single agent.

The latest version of CMCNE supported with ProSphere 1.6.0.2 is 11.1.4

CMCNE 11.2.x will not be supported til the next release of ProSphere 1.7

Brocade stopped developing the Standalone SMI agents for Brocade and Mcdata switch discovery the latest version of this agent comes as an Integrated Agent  as part of Connectrix Manager Converged Network (CMCNE) and supports for later firmware’s will be added to this agent.  https://support.emc.com/products/23304_CMCNE please note the full version of CMCNE requires a license. But CMCNE can be installed and setup to run without a license for the Integrated SMI Agent. When asked to Choose the appropriate edition to install Select the SMI Agent only option.

Discovery the switches in CMCNE. Then create an Access Credential and discovery job in ProSphere pointing at host where the Integrated SMI Agent is installed.

ProSphere 1.6.0.1 is supported to work with CMCNE/BNA 11.1.x

Conor

Hi Conor,

Is a license required to install CMCNE with SMI Agent only?

Does brocade SMI Agent 120.11 supports FOS  v7.0.0a ?

Thank you very much.

Hi Caio,

Is a license required to install CMCNE with SMI Agent only?

No license required just to install the SMI Agent during the installation of CMCNE, When asked to Choose the appropriate edition to install within the installation wizard of CMCNE. Select the SMI Agent only option this way it will not request you for a CMCNE license.

Does brocade SMI Agent 120.11 supports FOS  v7.0.0a ?

No, Only supports upto FOS 6.4x
