3200mp - faint Dell logo - white spots - remote doesn't seem to cause the unit...

Hello -

My Dell 3200MP has an problem. 

Very faint dell logo
White spots shows on the screen - it reminds me of "pin holes of light" showing through a black piece of paper
Unit doesn't appear to recognize remote signal inputs
Unit doesn't appear to recognize an attached laptop

It turns on and seems to work properly but there are little white spots showing around the Dell logo.  The logo is very faint.  I put new batteries in the remote but the unit doesn't recognize the remote's signal.  If I hit the menu button, the logo screen does not go away. 

I attached a laptop via a vga/M1 cable but the MP doesn't see the laptop signal as the faint dell logo doesn't go away (even though the laptop has been fnF8 to the MP.

The lamp appears to be strong, nothing inside sounds loose.

Can't figure this one out.

Any suggestion?
