Windows 10 driver for Dell 968 Inkjet
I have just upgraded my OS from Windows 7 to Windows 10. My Dell 968 printer will not work since the update. Product support link says that Dell have not tested this printer with Windows 10 and I cannot find any solution to solve the problem.

I would try the procedure I have listed below and see if the printer installs.
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time (powered on).

installed the wndows 7 drivers and still not able to print from windows 10 on the dell 968w printer.

I followed Ricks instructions and eventually got the Vista SP2 drivers loaded. I had to use the 968 driver CD to load drivers as downloading 968 driver from the Dell website did not work for some reason.
Anyway, its working now as good as ever. Thanks Rick

Did you try the Vista drivers I have listed in the instructions listed above post in the Vista SP2 Compatibility mode?

Hi, were you able to use all the functions of the printer after installing in Vista comparability mode? Also was this for Windows 10? My 968w stopped working as soon as I went from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Thanks for the help.

Rick, thanks so much for this post! I was almost going to buy a new printer, Win10 just had a major update and installing/re-installing wouldn't work until I followed these instructions.

Hi All
I have a problem with a Dell 640 computer with Windows 10 that will not print to Dell 968 printer. When I send a document to the printer, I get a message "The printer is not responding is a problem with the connection between the computer and the printer. Please check the connection between your computer and the printer"
The scanner works perfectly with the PC.
The printer was working fine up to about 6 weeks ago before I had to extend the C drive partition in order to install the latest Windows 10 updates. The printer did not work after I had installed the latest Windows 10 updates.
I made various attempts to fix it by clearing print queues, uninstalling / installing drivers with Vista compatable mode, but have had no success.
I have another Dell 640 with the latest Windows 10 updates (no partition on harddrive) and it continues to work with the Dell 968.
I would appreciate if anyone has any suggestions.
