T5820 Samsung nvme install driver problem

Hello, i just upgraded my nvme ssd in the flexby with samsung 970 evo plus.
it works but samsung magician is saying that the correct driver is not installed!
It also says i need Samsung or Microsoft driver!
i tried to download the samsung drivers, but when i tried to install - it says NO Samsun driver attached!
Can somebody from Dell help me or i need to contact microsoft or Samsung for help?

Thank you!

The Flex bay is not where the PCI-E M2 drive should be in order for ELAM to SEE the drive. MUST BE in PCI-E X4 X8 X16 slot.

PCI-E M2 Driver will not install without the M2 being in an X4 PCI-E slot. This is not a dell support issue.

If you do not put m2 into PCI-E slot it will not be seen in device manager nor will it be seen by the driver.

That step is not optional. Secure boot must be OFF for non dell hardware especially storage that is in the UEFI boot path.Early Launch Anti-Malware (ELAM) is a Windows security technology that evaluates non-Microsoft certified (Bios Certificates) WHQL boot time device hardware and software/application drivers for malicious code. This is UEFI system kernel that starts UEFI boot mode, before the OS loads. ELAM is a detection driver used to identify malware, root kits or other malicious code/drivers initiated at system startup. When a system starts, ELAM scans all third-party apps/drivers and sends the system kernel a report that includes all of the device/software drivers, which are classified as one of the following four groups: good, bad, bad but boot critical and unknown.  This is why non dell hardware and drivers require secure boot OFF.

The driver will not install if the ssd is not physically in the unit via adapter or M2 SLOT that supports PCI-E x4  x8  x16

Secure boot must be OFF in bios or the drive will not be seen.

Samsung Driver is specific.

You need to change default RAID to AHCI in F2 bios SATA Operation.

That will require reinstall or fixing the BCD.

This driver supports Samsung NVMe™ SSD 970 PRO, 970 EVO, 970 EVO Plus,
960 PRO, 960 EVO and 950 PRO.

i used that samsung data migration to clone the old ssd to the samsung 970 evo plus - and it worked great.
The weird thing is that the machine is recognizing the nvme as Samsung 970, and installs Intel drivers - not microsoft or Samsung...
Samsung Magician says the intel drivers are in use, and in order to be recognized, i must use Microsoft or Samsung drivers...so that is why i thought that i can update/replace the Intel with Microsoft one....

"i think that i need to update the driver manually, but i cant find driver in zip file so i can add it from device manager....but that is what i think, maybe there is another solution"

The Driver is intentionally not in a zip file because samsung does not want others to copy their driver and their software or hardware.  The driver is encrypted to prevent tampering or reverse engineering.

This is also why it refuses to install if it cannot see the associated hardware.  They even have data migration software to help you clone to the ssd after installing the driver.

Samsung Data Migration Software

Samsung Data Migration software is designed to help users quickly, easily, and safely migrate all of their data – including their current operating system, application software, and user data – from their existing storage device (e.g. HDD) to their new SSD. Samsung_Data_Migration_User_Manual
