CPU Upgrade T5600 Precision Running C+ Algorithms

I want to get the quickest CPU for running mathematical modelling and algorithms on my T5600. The PC runs single programs, so doesn't have to contend with multiple programs running at the same time. It currently has the original Xeon E5-2620 2.00GHz. Any advice would be very welcome, thanks.

E5-2620 has 6 core

if you want to stay within 6 core since you apparently do not want more cores

fastest is Xeon E5-2667

@redxps630 Many thanks. Would I be correct in assuming that the step up to the 2667 would probably only provide nominal gains in processing times?
