Medium Changer device for TL2000 is not showing in device manager in Windows Server 2016
Hello,
I just upgraded our backup server to WIN 2016 (Using HPE DL380 GEN10) and I am trying to reattach our PowerVault TL2000 tape library to the new server. I am using PERC H800 HBA card. I see the tape drive as IBM Ultrium 4 3580 but I am not seeing the Medium Changer Device in device manager.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi, I assume all physical connections between correct. Please check and install to this driver pack https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-uk/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=cpnn9&oscode=wst14&productcode=powervault-tl2000
In the Device Manager, right-click on the server name and select (Scan for hardware changes.) Also update the firmware on the TL2000 tape library, as well as the PERC H800 HBA card, if available. When you have downtime you can restart. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve driver recognition issues.

is the drive in the bottom slot?

Unfortunately, didn't work. I am still having the problem. I am not sure but the HBA and the tape library were working fine on the old server before the upgrade.

I have only one full size drive in the tape library

Hello MDimassi,
I suspect a compatibility issue Erman mentioned.
The H800 is only validated up to 11th generation server (R710) and W2K8R2 OS.
PCI Architecture : The PERC H700 and H800 cards support a PCI-E 2.0 x8 host interface.
