Solaris Powerpath CX盘使用疑问
Solaris 10上装了powerpath，划分了2块CX盘。
对Solaris不熟，对盘有点疑问，

盘看到是这样的，
但是看到盘有很多很多的slice，从a-p，p1-p5总共21个
我要做svm的话，到底用哪些呢？

Hi Xulei,
By the help of Google Translator I translated your question. Now trying to give the answer in detail --
1. By seeing the Solaris device hardware path , got to know that this is a Solaris x86 host.
2. In Solaris x86 we can partition a device in 2 way, a) by using 'fdisk', and we will get p0, p1 p#.. etc. partitions, and b) by using traditional 'format' and we will get s0, s1, s2 (whole device) s3..etc.
3. Please note - On Solaris x86 platform PowerPath only support 'format' partitions , and present them as emcpower0a (s0), emcpower0b (s1) , emcpower0c (s2 , whole device) and not support 'fdisk' partitions like p0, p1, p2...etc.
4. Now if we want to use 'fdisk' partition instead of 'format' partition in svm, then it would be advisable not to use PowerPath and it will be good to unmanaged that / those devices in PowerPath.
5. If we are going to use 'format' partitioned devices and we want to use the slice 2 (s2) in SVM , then we will need use emcpower0c. Or if we partioned and put whole space to slice 0 (s0), then we will need to use emcpower0a. In both the situation partitioned and not partitioned we can use slice 2 (s2) emcpower0c.
6. "powermt display dev=all" usualy list devices as emcpower0a , that does not mean that we have use emcpower0a to create file system, we can any partition (a, b, c, d...etc) as we had created partition on this device.
