PPME FOR W2K8 CLUSTERS ?
Hi All,
Migrating CX-3 TO VNX using PPME for Windows 2008 Clusters. For W2K8 Clusters Need to STOP APPLICATIONS before COMMIT RIGHT. After Commit Bring up the Applications ? NO NEED ANY REBOOT RIGHT?

stop application and bring failover resource offline, no need to reboot.

stop the app first (could be a sql database, file share ..etc) and then bring resource offline.

Tnx .. 1) I need to make failover Groups offline ? 2) stop the Application?

This is almost a year later, but worth mentioning for future use.
PPME is able to migrate live without the need to offline anything. In fact, starting with PP 5.7 SP1 and onwards, ALL the nodes in the cluster can and are required to be up and running among other new requirements.
Open Migrator is the only application that needs the cluster group to be brought offline before completing.
