PowerPath/VE Licensing - ESXi Host
I have a number of ESXi hosts which I wish to license for PowerPath/VE 5.9.1 SP3. The license files have already been generated, and are ready for installation. The network that the ESXi hosts reside on are isolated, which rules out the use of a licensing server, or RTOOLS server, as no connectivity is possible. Is it possible to license the ESXi hosts locally, i.e. in a similar way to emcpreg?
Keep in mind, that RTOOLS cannot be installed on the ESXi host, as it does not support RPM installation.

Hi ,
I would recommend using the Powerpath Management Appliance.
Refer to the following link for information on the product and how to install it:https://support.emc.com/docu68866_PowerPath-Management-Appliance-2.1-and-Minor-Releases-Installation-and-Configuration-G…
Also use the following link to download it:

Is there a possibility to install Rtools on a VM that runs on the same ESXi server where you intend to install PP/VE 5.9.1 Sp3?
There is node locked licenses that don't need license server and tied to a specific host that can work in your case, but you would still need to install Rtools to monitor and manage PowerPath/VE instance. Please explore that.
