sas6 /IR update failled -> PCIE training error : integrated RAID
HEy, I have a Poweredge R410
I wanted to switch my sas6 ir to IT to use zfs
i followed this tutorial -> https://www.brainless.us/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1302 but after this command
"sasflash -o -e 6"
and the second reboot i have for message :
PCIE training error : integrated RAID
system Halted
i have change the raid card to the other slot and i try this

but no succes too.
Anybody have a idea ?
when i put the card on the top slot i have access to the raid card but no disk appears

Hello, i have found the solution
I bought a new sas6 / IR and I extracted the firmware and the bios, I then reinjected it into my bricked raid card, it worked again
I then reflashed the raid card in IT, it worked too
----------------------------------------------------------------
Before flash backup the firmware and the bios
cd c:
cd update
cd backup
sasflash -o -ubios bios.rom
sasflash -o -ufirmware firmware.fw
sasflash -o -unvdata nvdata.rom
----------------------------------------------------------------
Now flash to IT
cd ..
cd flash
sasflash -o -f 3081ETB3.fw -b mptsas.rom
----------------------------------------------------------------

Hello,
Normally controller boards come in IR mode and are designed to do this. They cannot present drives to the host directly. Each drive must first be included in a Logical drive. SAS 6 / IR does not offer JBOD. I have never used a controller used in IT mode before. I have to say that it is not officially a method we support and unfortunately I do not have much information.
However, I did some digging and I'd like to share this link here which I think will be useful to you. if I quote the link https://dell.to/3hlPdgP this method works for itself
"1) During POST, press CTRL-C to get into the BIOS of the SAS 6/iR.
2) Hit Enter to select the first adapter listed. It will read the NVRAM settings
3) Move the highlight until it hits the value for "Boot support" (should be highlighted already). Press either - or + until the value reads "Disabled".
4) Hit Esc and save your changes, then hit Esc again to get out of the BIOS and reboot."
It would be very helpful if anyone in our community has experience with a similar SAS 6 / IR and shares it.

Hello, thanks for your answer but that not solved my problem,
Because when i place the card in the good pcie slot i have an error immediatly and no Access to bios or other menu.
I can have acces to the card in the second pcie slot but no disk appear.
I have reload the IR firmware to the card but not succes too, i think when i have reset the card the first time, i forgot to restore one program but i don't know what that can be it.

Hi, this situation is not good at all, There may be a problem with the slot, motherboard. However, this error occurs when the proprietary card or a card that does not have proprietary firmware and proprietary firmware on the old card is inserted. Maybe you need to force flash the current card again. As I said before, unfortunately, I have not flashed cards in a similar way before.
