Hi,
Perc 4/sc and 4/dc can be installed in a Dell™ PowerEdge™ computer with a motherboard that has 5V or 3.3V, 32 or 64-bit (66 or 100MHz) PCI slots.
http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/storage/perc4sc/UG/en/index.htm
The Perc will work most efficiently in the 64-bit, 100MHz slot.
Thanks for using the Dell Community Forums!

Hello Mark A!
i have got some problems with your answer that you can put the PERC 4/SC Controller into a PCI-64 BIT Slot
either with 66 or 100MHZ Bus Speed, and that the best performance will result in putting it into a 100MHZ slot.
If you put this controller into a 100MHZ PCI Slot the Slot reduces its speed to 66MHZ.
So what ya tell cannot be true.
Even a PCI Slot with 66MHZ has enough performance backups for more powerfull RAID Controllers.
Apart from this i have got another question!
My PERC 4/SC needs 4,30 minutes to copy 1,2GB to a another partition in a RAID 5 Array !
Is that normal ? No its not !
So what could be the problem ?
I got a POWER EDGE 1600 SC Server A09 BIOS, PERC 4/SC U320 Raid Adapter 3,28 FW
2 x Seagate U320 10K 36,7GB Harddisks
1 x IBM/Hitachi U320 10K 36,7GB Harddisk
Harddisks running in a RAID 5 Array with: write trough, direct/IO,adaptive read controller has auto termination.
maybe some ideas what i can do against the lousy performance.
Thanks in advance
