It is worth noting that you cant just connect cables to the backplane to make it nvme capable. Dell servers are usually sas/sata or sas/sata/nvme, or nvme only. Each of these 3 backplanes are different and need different cables and sometimes different storage controller configurations to make them work.

Hello, thanks for choosing Dell and welcome to our community:
There’s no such thing as a kit for this occasion-you’ll have to purchase one by one.
And we don’t know what your main chassis is- the pic shows for 2.5 inch disks, just in case t you might be using a 3.5 so please double check on that too.

@DELL-Rey G thanks for the information, <Private data removed from public view DELL-Admin>, Can you help me know if there is a way to install 2.5" u.2 nvme drives on this server and where can I buy what is required? , If I buy the h965i raid card it is compatible with my motherboard and I can install 2.5" nvme u.2 drives

my server already have the h355 front raid card, i think if only change the backplane to YD2C2 and raid card to h755n can get working u.2 nvme units, or maybe can buy the h965i too? this model of server have many versions of motherboard? <Private data removed from public view DELL-Admin>. i can install the boss n1 kit to get working 2 nvme drives?
Is this configuration possible with my server?

Servddj,
While the server should work with a majority of those configurations, as detailed here, the question would be if you wish to boot to those m.2 drives or not. If not then the controllers you discussed would work, but if you wish to boot to them, you would need to go with the BOSS controller.
Let me know if this helps.

@DELL-Chris H I understand, in fact I do plan to use the boss, but I also need to connect more u.2 nvme units, if possible 16 with two 8 x 2.5" backplanes, I already have the backplane for nvme units but I can't find what I need to connect it to my server.

Hi,
I don't think 2 8x 2.5" is possible with 16. Remember that the parts replaced in these processes are not Customer replaceable units. And as Rey mentioned earlier, simply changing the cable may not get you the result you want. Please take a look chassis configurations for poweredge R7615 system supports:
● 12 x 3.5-inch hot-swappable SAS, SATA drives
● 8 x 2.5-inch hot-swappable SAS, SATA drives
● 8 x 2.5- inch hot-swappable NVMe drives
● 16 x 2.5-inch hot-swappable SAS, SATA, or NVMe drives
● 24 x 2.5-inch hot-swappable SAS, SATA, or NVMe drives
● 2 x 2.5-inch (rear) hot-swappable SAS, SATA, or NVMe drives
● 4 x 2.5-inch (rear) hot-swappable SAS, SATA, or NVMe drives
● 4 x E3.s NVMe Gen5x2 drives (pRTS)
● Zero drives (without backplane)

I understand, verifying the supported configurations, I require this:
How can I have this configuration working on my server?

It would come down to how the server is currently configured, as the supported option would be to order the server with those specific configuration options.
