H965i with 16 disk sas backplane and 8 disk nvme backplane on R760xs
hi
i am looking at new server which is R760xs, it can have: "2.5" Chassis with up to 16 Hard Drives (SAS/SATA) + 8x2.5" Front NVMe Drives, 2 CPU, PERC12" according to the Dell site.
the question is: can i create one RAID set on the 16 SAS disks that i will have on the SAS/SATA backplane and another RAID set on NVME drives in the 8 disk NVME backplane with single H965i controller?

Hi,
Based on the specification and user guide on Chassis with up to 16 Hard Drives (SAS/SATA) + 8x2.5" Front NVMe Drives, the PERC H965i is able to support what you have mentioned. To be on the safe side, I may suggest to fill in the details for a sales call back to verify all your requirements are met: https://dell.to/46JApBf

This is not possible. You'll not be able to do the RAID on the NVME's. I had to return servers for this very reason.
