Dell 2950 Internal sata port A won’t initialize

So I have a dell 2950 and I put a hdd in the cd drive spot for a boot device so I can have all 6 bays for storage. I got a molex to sata adapter and put the sata cable on port A in the motherboard. The bios recognized it but TrueNas can’t initialize it or detect it, it’s complaining about CAM csbus 3. I’m wondering if the reason it can’t initialize or detect it is because it’s not being controlled by the raid card? Is there a way to get this to work?
