3.5 inch (x12) Hybrid backplane with NVMe U.2 SSD for Dell R740xd
Hello,
The manual for the R740xd references a "3.5 inch (x12) Hybrid backplane with NVMe U.2 SSD". Does anyone know if I'd be able to upgrade my "3.5 inch (x12) SAS/SATA backplane" with this hybrid backplane? If so, what part numbers would I need. I cannot find much information about the hybrid back plane.

Hello crazymateo,
I will note that field changing of backplane configuration is not supported as that is selected at time of purchase.
There are not kits available for conversion.
This is the part number for the hybrid backplane:
Pn#CCTRP - ASSY,CRD,BKPLN,PASSIV,12X3.5,Z
DSS Only, 12X3.5 Inch, ASSY Backplane,HUANGSHA Hybrid Backplane

Hello, I’m afraid we don’t have a kit for that. You will need to read the manual carefully and order all the parts individually if you must go with it. I am not positive this will work but we will see what others think. Sorry I can’t be of much help. Wish you a good one.

@DELL-Young E - Thank you. Do you have a part number for that backplane? I cannot find much information on it.
