Poweredge T440 SATA A and B connector

Hello, is there anybody that can tell me what connector type do the "Onboard SATA A connector" and B use in a dell T400?

They're the right and bottom connector in the following pic.

Thanks

Hello

It looks like a SATA connector. The shielding around the connector may be too close for a normal SATA cable to connect to it. Our SATA cable for it is part number N8KMW.

Thanks

We purchased one of these cables (from dell) but there is no documentation that we can find to show where to plug the power into.  We found a plug that shows as ODD Power and it works, but when we plug this in, and connect to an internal RD1000 Drive we get an error telling us that one of the cards has an issue.  have to write the error down.

Is there a wiring diag somewhere for this cable?

Could you post a photo of that cable, with both ends visible? Sounds like that may not be the cable needed. Also, so very odd that Dell is reverting to the old proprietary days now with making up a new (unneeded) SATA connector type.

Any help here???

Hello,

The documentation only refers to it as a SATA connector. If you need help identifying a compatible component, I'd be happy to check our database. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

Hi, thanks for choosing Dell. Daniel up there previously said you will need a SATA cable. If that's not the answer you are looking for, could you please be more specific so that we can help you better? You can start a new thread if you like. Wish you a great one!

These are not SATA ports. They are labelled SATA_A and SATA_B but they are not SATA connectors.

Did you end up successfully using them using cable N8KMW?

Where can I find detailed instructions on where to plug all required connectors for cable N8KMW on a PowerEdge T440?

I can't seem to find instructions online, and apart from SATA_A that goes to the SATA_A port on the motherboard, there's two power connectors (so it seems): a small one labeled MB, and a second larger one labeled P4.

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi, that P4 is a power supply port and the cable HDD is Cable 450W PSU only ( non-hot plug).

Where can I find detailed instructions on where to plug all required connectors for cable N8KMW on a PowerEdge T440?->  no such thing I'm afraid.

They look like SFF-8611 SAS connectors. Can someone from DELL confirm?

Dell cable 0DR9FM seems to fit SATA_A on another 14th gen machine.

Hi, sorry I'm afraid that's something we don't know either. I don't know if anyone can answer Dell to be honest. Sorry I can't be of help this time.

Thank you for the answer, but that's… quite distressing to say the least.

I bought official DELL parts that are supposed to go together. I'm looking for instructions on how to plug them together as they are supposed to be. It is actually possible there is no documentation or validated process to do this?

I cannot afford to randomly try plugging power connectors to various places on the motherboard, hoping it does not fry anything and eventually works, right?
