poweredge r440 idrac does not understand intel x710-da2

We have a number of poweredge r440 servers
os = esxi7.0u3 currently.
bios version = 2.12.2
idrac9 version = 5.00.00.00

Some of these r440's have intel x710-da2 ethernet adapters. These are supposed to be genuine Intel but were not purchased through Dell. These are not fully recognized in idrac9 as shown in screenshot below, does not indicate link status or speed, etc as expected. (i have one r440 with broadcom adv dual 10gb instead of x710 and it shows up fine in idrac)

Idrac system update recognizes these enough to attempt to download and install "Network_Firmware_DK4G2_WN64_20.0.17_A00.EXE" but installation fails with "RED013: The DUP specified is not compatible with the target device."

i downloaded and installed Intel's management and firmware update utilities to identify card and update firmware manually on one of these servers. card shows pci identifier 8086:1572, firmware updated from 5.05 to 8.64. idrac still does not recognize.

It's working in production, but this just bothers me. esxi is also confused about driver updates too, but that's a separate issue. Any suggestions?

This type of issues are observed by users when non Dell cards are used. Dell cards come with a firmware which is compatible and validated with PowerEdge server. So there could be compatibility issues when non Dell cards are used.
