iDRAC license never activated on servers

We have a few Dell servers that we bought quite a while ago. I've read that the iDRAC licenses arrive in e-mail after purchasing a server, but sadly I can't find those e-mails anymore, or might have never recieved them.

I've managed to get the service tags for all servers though. Is there any way to find the iDRAC licenses with these?

Or is there any way to find them at all?

Hello,

You can track them down using the service tags and a handy tool called Dell Digital Locker (DDL).

Here's how to get started:

  1. Head to the Dell Digital Locker: Just search online for "Dell Digital Locker" and it should pop right up. Log in using the email address you used when you bought the servers. No account yet? No worries, you can create one on the spot with the same email.

  2. Register Your Server (if needed): If the server isn't already registered, DDL might ask you to do so using its service tag. Just follow the on-screen instructions.

  3. Grab Your License Key: Once you're registered and have your server listed, head over to your order history. Find the order for your specific server by its number and click on it. This will take you to the order details page, where you should see your iDRAC license key waiting to be downloaded. Easy peasy!

Hope that helps!

You can easily export the license from your up and running iDRAC with a cmd one line.

@DELL-Erman O

Hello,

I've managed to add all the servers to my account, but there's nothing in the order history for some reason. I've tried to find it in all the menus but I can't see it.

Can you send me the registration codes, if I provide you all the service tags?

Thank you for your help in advance!

@Sanyi1234 Previously, we could help with such a this cases through a tool, but access restrictions were introduced. Please DM me the service tags along with the following information: the svc tag, as well as the company name or customer number as well as your email details. I'm not promising but I will do my best.

From a remote

racadm IP_ADDRESS_IDRAC -u root -p calvin license export -f "my.idrac.lic"

or from local OS with admin permissions

racadm license export -f "my.idrac.lic"

@DELL-Erman O I'm trying to send you a private message but everytime I click on it, it just brings me to the main community hub. Can you send tell me an e-mail adress where I can send you all the information?

@Origin3k

I've tried both commands, the server didn't recognise the "racadm" command for some reason

@Sanyi1234

you have to INSTALL the iDrac Tools FIRST.   Installing them is possible during runtime.  If windows is used you can copy the racadm.exe and the *.dll from another system.   In our setup racadm is part if the management tools and we have an folder with all needed stuff which is added to the default path.
