i need help with the ram

the ram ( https://starmicroinc.net/hynix-8gb-ddr3-1333mhz-pc3-10600-240-pin-ecc-registered-cl9-1-35v-dimm-dual-rank-server-memory-hmt31gr7bfr4a-h9/ )

cpu (xeon x3460 @ 2.80GHz)

wen i plug the ram in nothing happens!!!

*BUT WEN I PUT IN NORMAL PC RAM IT TURNS ON NOW AND AGAIN AND MOVES

LIKE IT HAS A LATENCY PROBLEM PLEASE HELP

PLEASE ANYBODY!

For better assist, you need to provide the system model, example PowerEdge T110.

When system can support both types of memory, if using RDIMM, try 4 GB stick.  If using UDIMM, it may support 8 GB stick.
