The EMC vLab team, part of EMC Solutions Group, is pleased to announce the availability of two new demonstration labs relating to Documentum D2 and EMC Replication Manager with Oracle ASM on VNX. Please see details of each lab below. D2_40_v1
D2 version 4.0 is a brand new widget UI for Documentum. This lab will give you an overview of new D2 4.0 UI and new configuration abilities in D2-Configuration. The configuration used for that demo is a HR document management application used for D2 3.1. Note – This config is based on the D2_Training_40 lab recently used for training purposes. Highlights: This demo system provides the following functionality and comes complete with a demo guide for the following capabilities:
- Introduction to D2 4.0
- Widget configuration
- Theme configuration
- Workspace configuration
- External gadget integration
- Documentum 6.7 sp1

Application Protection with Replication Manager and RecoverPoint on VNX – Additional Use Case The EMC vLab team has added ‘EMC Replication Manager with Oracle ASM on VNX’ as an additional use case to the ‘Application Protection with Replication Manager and RecoverPoint on VNX’ lab. Replication Manager software delivers point-and-click replica management for instant restore back to production; creating a “gold copy” of production data for instant restore should a corruption occur. Also ideal for backup acceleration, Replication Manager streamlines the backup of production data without impacting performance. Similarly, you can create copies of your production database for data repurposing activities such as testing, development, QA, reporting, and training to minimize the impact to production and leverage your production data to perform double duty. Replication manager provides application intelligence to place applications into the proper state for application-consistent replicas of Oracle ASM groups. This is an ideal demonstration for anyone running the Oracle environment on an EMC VNX or CLARiiON. Highlights: This demo has a detailed lab guide providing steps for the following:
- Simplified management of storage replication using the Replication Manager console
- Modifying/Deleting the Oracle database prior to creating a replica
- Creating an application-consistent clone replica of Oracle 11gR2 ASM groups
- Restore a replica using the Replication Manager GUI
- Database recovery using RMAN commands

vLab is currently open to Technical Pre-Sales staff from Affiliate Elite, Premier and Signature Velocity partners at this time.
TC’s can use their own accounts to provision sessions and then supply their customer the auto login URL so they are able to use it during the time scheduled.
