Lightning Flash Server Technology Affects Oracle Environments

EMC's upcoming Lightning launch has huge implications for the Oracle environment. The EMC Live Event on February 6 will provide details concerning this exciting new technology.

For those not familiar with Project Lightning, this press release contains the highlights. Project Lightning is a server-side PCIe Flash card which sits inside the application / database server (or client from a storage standpoint) and works closely with EMC Fast*** technologies to deliver data quickly and efficiently to server applications as needed.

This technology obviously competes with Oracle's Sun Flash Accelerator Card. I am interested in discussing what folk's opinion is concerning the EMC Lightning card, how it will perform in an Oracle context, and how you think it will compete with Oracle.
