【EMC Proven Solutions Introduction】 Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery for Oracle 11g Enabled by EMC Symmetrix VMAX 10K and EMC RecoverPoint

This solution was designed to reflect and validate real-world deployments.  The purpose of the solution is to prove:

• The transactional capabilities of an OLTP database utilizing Oracle 11g on Symmetrix VMAX 10K
• The Symmetrix VMAX 10K integrated RecoverPoint array-based splitter can be used to simplify replication for DR of Oracle DB physical environments.
• How customer can implement nondisruptive DR rehearsal when needed, utilizing RecoverPoint CRR.

Solution architecture

RecovePoint CRR site failover and failback process:

• Simulate disaster on the production site
• Failover the production database to the recovery site using RecoverPoint
• Start up database on the recovery site and verify business continuity
• Failback the production database from the recovery site to the production site

RecoverPoint CDP database recovery process:

• Creat a Recoverpoint image bookmark
• Simulate the corruption of the production database
• Recover and validate the production database using the RecoverPoint CDP
