Replacing the hard disk to SSD

I have a MINI TOWER OPTIPLEX 7050 computer and I want to replace the hard disk to an SSD fast disk. Can I replace the existing SATA SSD and how it works physically (the SSD is smaller than the existing disk).
Another question is whether there is a free slot for an M.2 SSD card and if so, did the computer know how to work with 2 disks.

Only the drive you're loading to should be connected.

  • Remove M2 drive.
  • Insert DVD.  If you need PC powered on to do this, it's simple.  Insert DVD, power off.  Power back on.
  • A message should appear "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD..."
  • Enjoy.  You should be well on your way.

Passing along if this is your first time loading Win10.

You'll get a window similar to this:

05-Delete-Existing-Primary-Partition-Windows-10-Clean-Install1-640x480.png

Yours should be just one line showing one partition.  Highlight it with just one click if I remember right.  Then click on Next.  Win10 then automatically makes its partitions.  See Disk 1 in my screengrab below:
