Optiplex Bios Display Options

Optiplex 7000

DISPLAY
  Multi-Display  
  Enable Multi-Display Enable or disable the Enable Multi-Display buttons on the computer.

By default, the option is enabled.

  Primary Display  
  Video Primary Display Determines the primary display when multiple controllers are available on the computer

By default, the Auto option is enabled.


Optiplex 7090

Multi-Display  
  Enable Multi-Display Enable or disable the Enable Multi-Display buttons on the computer.

Optiplex 7080/7070/7060/7050/7040

Video

OPTION DESCRIPTION
Primary Display Allows you to select the primary display when multiple controllers are available in the system.
  • Auto (default)
  • Intel HD Graphics
NOTE If you do not select Auto, the on-board graphics device will be present and enabled.

Optiplex 9020/7020/7010

Optiplex 9020 (video options depends on bios version : A04 or A05)

The A04 and previous BIOS revisions had under the Video subsection an option for Multiple Display that was unchecked by default. When this system is configured with expansion graphics adapters, this option must be selected to use the integrated and the expansion adapters together.

Starting with revision A05 the Multi-Display option was replaced with a Primary Display option. This option allows the user to designate the onboard or expansion graphics adapter as the Primary display.

Optiplex 790

Video
Multi-Display Allows you to enable or disable Multi-Display. It should be enabled for Windows 7 32/64-bit only. .
Enable Multi-Display — This option is disabled by default.
NOTE: The Video setting will only be visible when a video card is installed in the system.

Optiplex 780

Video
Primary Video
This field determines which video controller will become the primary video controller when 2 controllers are available in the system. This selection matters only if there are 2 video controller present.
Auto(default) - Use the add-in video controller.
Onboard/Card - Use the integrated video controller unless a Graphic card is installed. A PCI Express Graphic(PEG) card will override and disable the integrated video controller.

Boot menu. Press when the Dell logo appears to initiate a one-time boot menu with a list of the valid boot devices for the system. Diagnostics and BIOS Setup options are also included in this menu.
