My dell optiplex 3080 is turning off after every 10seconds?

Hi there,

My dell optiplex 3080 dekstop is turning off after every 10seconds.

Power supply is fine and its just 1 year old desktop.

any solutions i can try?!

Try a RTC reset

In other words, with unit connected to household outlet, press and hold power button for 30 sec. to reset BIOS.

If that doesn't work, PSU could be seeing early failure.  I doubt it's the software since it doesn't even have a chance to load.

Also:  Resolve No Power, No POST, No Boot or No Video issues with your Dell Computer

Hello @bradthetechnut ,

I disconnected all the cables and reset the bios by pressing and holding power button for 30sec, it restarted couple of times and now its working fine, thanks.

is there anything i can update in the software or any precautions i can take to avoid it happening again?

it is one of those things you hope it would not reoccur but there is not much you can do to stop it completely. Replacing CMOs battery with a new one soon is good maintenance. A new battery every 5 years or sooner like car spark plug maintenance. 3080 was released around 2020.
