Dell Optiplex 7020 SFF. Can I put a graphics card with 4 GB V Ram in this?

Hi all. I am new to this forum and I am not a computer guy Unfortunately. I'm an audio engineer who is upgrading my computer in my studio I was looking at an Dell Optiplex 7020 that had

32 GB Ram

Core i7 - 3.4 GHz

512 GB SSD Drive etc

This would be perfect for my audio projects but this computer has from what I can see a "dedicated" Graphics card so I imagine I will need more.

Adobe Premiere in 4K needs to have a graphics card with at least 4 GB of VRAM. It is imperative that my studio be able to edit video effortlessly Adobe Premiere.

Can a graphics card with these specs go into an optiplex 7020.

Here is the list adobe recommends for a graphic card.

THANKS TO ANYONE WHO KNOWS ABOUT THIS AND CAN HELP.

No you cant.  Not only will they not physically fit there isnt enough power to run the GPU.

NVIDIA Quadro P1000 4 GB GDDR5 - PCIe 3.0 x16 low profile wont fit either and there is NOT enough power to run it.

There are ZERO options for SFF.

This video shows how small the SFF is as well as the GT1030 2GB card working.

My thoughts are that Mini tower has 275W not 290W power supply but desktop and SFF have 240W

Desktop is NOT Mini Tower and DOES NOT SUPPORT 75W card.

Dell Optiplex 3010 390 790 990 7010 9010 SFF 240W 0RV1C4

Pushing a power supply that much can cause it to DIE and FRY everything.

1GB AMD RADEON HD 7570

Dell AMD Radeon 7570

Low Profile PCIe Card 1GB 04C5DK

https://www.amazon.com/Radeon-GDDR5-DisplayPort-Dell-Profile/dp/B00NI6S0P0

1GB AMD RADEON HD 7470

are the stock upgrades that work except USFF which has no slots.

BLUE SLOT can do 75W ONLY on MT

BLUE SLOT is 50W MAX on DT and SFF

BLACK SLOT is 25W MAX on all models.

Mini tower can upgrade power supply to 365W.

End of story.

YMMV

Hi again,

I heard that a GEFORCE GTX 1650 works in the 7020. The stock graphics card uses 45 watts. The GTX 1650 uses 83 watts. The 7020 has a 290W power supply. I just watched a video on u tube where a guy put one in a 7010 and it fit. Here is my dilemma. Ibara cording studio in 99% of my work is audio. I need to upgrade my computer and I found a computer refurbished online that would be more than perfect for my new and I my back is against the wall. I gotta get something quick. But I want to get a computer they can handle Adobe premiere pro no heavy editing no 4 K just to bring up and do some editing better still clients that have videos that I have to lock to music vice a versa I wanna be able to open Adobe premiere do not have my computer choking because the graphic card is lame.

The 7020 I saw online is refurbished

If I could put a graphics card in here that can handle entry level video editing. I'm good.

What are your thoughts

Thanks in advance any help is appreciated

Hi. I came late to the party, but have some input. I have a 3020 SFF, which is similar configuration, though you have more memory slots, USB ports, and additional SATA port. Power questions aside for a 255W power supply, there is simply only room for a single width low height card, in the PCI Express X16 slot. Some of the cards I have seen take up 2 slots for their fan/heatsink, so not useable here. The power supply is in the way. Within the NVIDEA cards listed as compatible, the GeForce cards are marketed and configured toward home use and gamers, the Quadro line is built for the workstation crowd- architects, CAD design, 3D modeling, etc. Thus far, the only 4 GB cards I've seen that will fit this case are some Quadros, or the AMD Pro WX3100. Also, some of those cards might run within the machine's power limitations. Happy hunting!
