CPU fan and rear case fan failure warning on Dell Optiplex 9010 mt

Okay this just started happening yesterday without warning I tried installing different fans and all seemed good till I turned off the computer over night and I was greeted with this all over again. Even the Dell OEM fans are doing the same(these Dell fans I'm sure are bad) and new fans from Newegg(non OEM fans) I think I have a few spare Dell fans that should work with this computer.

The fans are spinning I checked and the temps are good so what could be causing this?

Should I clear the CMOS by removing the battery? this will be a pain if I have to get a non wireless keyboard every time I turn on the computer and have to press F1 to get passed this message.

The computer works fine besides this

Non Dell fans will require F1 to continue.

If you put the OEM fans back in and connected correctly and still getting the error the next step is to clear the CMOS with the battery removal.  Power off PC, disconnect the AC power cord then hold the power button in for about 30 seconds to drain any remaining power.  Then open case and remove coin cell battery for at least 10 minutes. Reinstall battery and reconnect AC power and see if its fixed.

It had non Dell fans in for almost two months and not sure how long they was installed before I got it and it never gave that warning before. Also the Dell fans that I got with this computer(they were not installed I was told they was bad) I did put back in and got the same message after post even after removing the CMOS battery for 3 minutes more then long enough to clear the BIOS settings so it's clear the Dell fans were bad. I did have two Dell oem fans from a Dell Optiplex 9020 that had a bad motherboard that I used for parts and these fans are working with no error message yet. These are the same fans by what I can see. It seems like these fan power cables were the problem weird how they worked for so long only to start giving out the error messages they feel cheap like something that came from China94639268_244327063591689_5400712600654708736_o.jpg

Dell sometimes swaps the wires around so that you will fry a dell fan on standard and the other way round.

It has 5 pins but only 4 wires are used.

Dell does not publish this. And some dells use standard wiring.

I believe this is correct.

YMMV
