Web Client Plugin for OMIVV

I am in the process of installing the latest version of OpenManage Integration for vCenter. This has gone well apart from one issue - after initially displaying the plugin has disappeared from the web client. I have tried restarting vCenter to no avail. The plugin has registered fine in the vSphere client. I have seen this post (http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/systems-management/f/4796/t/19545697.aspx) but this has not resolved my issue. Any help would be much appreciated as I have wasted several hours trying to get to the bottom of this one. Any questions please let me know.

Hi,

Thank you for the post.

I am assuming you already are using VCentre 5.5.

Could you please check the following:

  1. Launch https:// :9443/mob ->Content->ExtensionManager.Under Properties table, the following should be listed["com.dell.plugin.OpenManage_Integration_for_VMware_vCenter"]["com.dell.plugin.OpenManage_Integration_for_VMware_vCenter_WebClient"].

Thanks and regards,

Midhun

Hi Midhun,

Thanks for the response. I am using vCenter 5.5 and checked the location as described above. The plugin for OpenManager_Integration_for_VMware_vCenter_WebClient is present.  Hopefullly you have some more ideas? Thanks again for your help

For information I have now tried fully re-installing the appliance and it is still not displaying in the web client. Does anyone have any ideas? I also tried updating the appliance from 2.1.0.23 to 2.1.0.27 to see if this would resolve the problem but the upgrade is not working. The appliance restarts and appears to be performing the work but the build number does not change.

Hi Jon,

I have had issues in the past with version information after upgrading the VC plugin. In my case it was because I was using IE10 which wasn't supported (listed in the release notes), and had to downgrade IE just to get it to work.

It made no difference if I cleared IE cache, deleted cookies, etc. The only thing that resolved the version information was downgrading IE.

Hope this helps?

Cheers,

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the response. I tried IE9 but that still reported the version discrepancy. I am less concerned now as the plugin is now showing in the web client. I am perplexed as to what resolved the problem though. vCenter was restarted but I had previously done this to troubleshoot the problem. It is a nice feature but seems a bit unstable at the moment.

Thanks again

Jon
