OMEVV Plugin: Client is temporarily blocked for too many unsuccessful authentication
Installed the OMEVV Plugin in OME and pointed it to our vCenter environment with admin creds. vSphere client plugin dashboard shows "Client is temporarily blocked for too many unsuccessful authentication attempt."
Hosts tab thows a "vCenter with UUID XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXX is not registered. pop up.
Pretty much everything is non-functional with the plugin.
Any suggestions or insight on how to get past these errors is welcome.

While not a 100% solution I did spend time on a Dell support call and after an hour and a half of sitting on the phone while the tech IM'd back and forth with another engineer it was determined that the iDRAC licensing wasn't supported by the plugin.
We are running OME Advanced licensing whereas the plugin requirents OME Advanced +.
I didn't find this referenced in the earlier linked install/user documents in the thread but was able to find it here: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000175879/support-for-openmanage-enterprise
It might save some folks time if it was included in the install/config documentation that you need OME Advanced +. While this doesn't confirm that this is the exact issue that's causing the originally reported errors, without upgrading the licensing in my scenario there's no reason to continue trying to use the plugin.

Hello PB_LS,
Since it is a temporary block; can you try again periodically? Let me know if it is successful or not.
This may help : Failure during vCenter registration

Also take a look over - vCenter user authentication and Register new vCenter server Page 10 : https://dell.to/3vR9O50
Can you tell me the licenses you have on the host?

I have the same issue. We were using the OMIVV and that worked fine. I unregistered the OMIVV from vCenter and tried using the OMEVV Plugin. vCenter registers fine. But when logging back into vCenter an error pops up stating that the Plugin failed to download. and I'm seeing the same error as the poster above. We have a mix of iDRAC9 Enterprise Licenses and iDRAC9 Enterprise Advanced Licenses

Hi, have you tried what Charles has suggested? He's listed multiple in his response and would you let us know if any of them worked? Wish you a good one.

Yes, I have read all the docs that Charles listed above and also tried the things he listed that might help.
I have also included the info that he requested about licenses too.

Hello jz2pzlu,
What is the account you use when registering? Built-in administrator or an Active Directory account?

Within vCenter I created a explicit role with the permissions defined in the setup guide and assigned an AD user account to the role and used said account to register against our VCSA.
VCSA is 7.0.3.0070 build 20051473
ESXi hosts are running v 7.0 3f licensed Enterprise Plus.
Hardware is MX750c servers running in an MX7000 chassis running iDrac 9.
Issue still exists after original post. I even wiped out OM Enterprise and re-installed it from scratch, today, as well as having to manually remove plugin from vCenter via MOB and attempting to re-register and use this plugin.

I forgot to also include the other error I see in the widgets on the plugin dashboard which is:
"Client is temporarily blocked for too many unsuccessful authentication attempt."

Hello PB_LS,
Thank you for that information.
I'll need some time. I'm working with one of our Systems Engineers then I can update you.

Hello PB_LS,
I received an update from the engineer. They didn't encounter any issues. He mentioned it may be a permissions issue.
Would you be able to call in to support and work with an engineer that can do a remote session with you to get a look?
We don't have the ability to do remote sessions in the forum.

Hi @jz2pzlu,
I might suggest to get the support to remote in to check on the issue. As Charles suggested, would you be able to make a call in to support.
