wireless capability turned off

My Inspiron 1750 runs Window 7 with Dell wireless 1397 WLAN mini card installed. It suddenly now cannot get internet nor network connection. The troubleshooting says WIRELESS CAPABILITY TURNED OFF. How can I turn it on and keep it always on?

hoholulo,

In addition to what Elijah stated...

Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.

Then click on the advanced tab and look to see if this adapter has antenna diversity. If it does, then change it from Auto to Aux.

Restart your computer and try to connect.

Hi,

Welcome to the community

In Inspiron 1750, to disable/enable wireless you need to press F2 on the keyboard. To know the status of the Wireless card, you can go to start>control panel>network connection. It will stay on, unless you accidentally press the F2 button while typing or doing something in your computer.

Regards,

jbswifey7309,

Go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag, then select your operating system. Under applications, download and install Dell QuickSet

OMG, thank you so much!  We had taken our laptop with us on vacation and had connected to the campground wifi.  When we got back home, the laptop would no longer connect to our home internet wifi. This solved our problem and it was so simple but I never would have known to press F2.

THANK YOU!

Dear Rick

I have done follow your all suggestions but my wireless still off and can not turn on. I can't even press the button. Eventhough I have installed all operation drivers from Dell website.

BTW, I use Dell Latitude E5430 windows 7.

Thank you for your response in advance.

Best Regards,

Issara Khuan

Issara,

Did you install the drivers in the correct order, if this was a clean installation?

How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Chipset drivers FIRST. The chipset drivers help to determine what is attached to your system.

Dell Control Point controls the wireless adapter, similar to Dell Quickset does on other models.

how do i follow the instructions above re download Dell Quickset App onto my Dell computer when I cannot use that Dell computer to connect to internet?  I am writing to you from a different computer -- do i download the Quickset on this internet-working computer for the purposes of fixing the other non-internet-working computer?

I have del latitude 6320 and the WiFi is not working. It cannot see available wifi. My operating system is windows 10. I could not find it on the download page, because it skipped windows 10.

Is there any advice or solution to this issue?
