Wifi adapter goes missing from the laptop plz help
hello im new here and i currently own a dell 5558 inspiron and its wifi Intel Proset wireless adapter goes missing after few days of working and the only network that works is the normal wired connection and in the device manager also its not present also this problem came few months ago when i had windows 8.1 and i contacted the retailer and they reinstalled windows with 10 and it was working again and now the problem is back again and yet i have to repair my wifi driver and it works but it doesn't work always only sometimes it works can someone help me?

Thanks for writing to us.
When did the issue start? Was there any hardware or software changes done before the problem started?
Please disable the power save option in the wireless card properties.
Open the device manager--right click on the wireless driver --properties--power management and uncheck the boxes in this windows.
Do provide us the system tag# and also confirm the name the system is registered under. Let us
know the contact number and email address.

This product is registered under my name (Tharaka Perera)
This problem started after few months of use and i still do have 2 years of warranty left and when it first came my laptop was running a copy of windows 8.1 and after the problem came i tried reinstalling drivers but it works for a while and the problem comes again so i gave it to the shop and they fixed it but windows 10 was running and i think they just reinstalled windows but the problem didn't get fixed so after few months of use without any problem i get it again and i tried reinstalling divers but didn't help so now i completely uninstalled the intel proset wireless and now windows is just using its inbuilt wireless driver and it works but still it goes and comes back and i did check the power saving options and no box is ticked and also sometimes when i refresh my device manger the the wireless comes back and also there haven't being any hardware changes and yet my wifi device completely disappears from the whole system and restarting the system wont even fix the problem. and now its back again and will go away again in the next start up probably.

Did the retailer upgrade to windows 10 or did he completely format the machine and then installed the windows 10?
If they have just upgraded could you please ask them to format the machine and reinstall the windows and then test, if still the same then we are looking at a faulty hardware either the wireless card or the antenna.
