having major problems setting up my netgear wireless router

Hi all, and thanks for reading my first ever post,
Ok I have changed my subscription with alo and got a free router in the mean time, my son wants internet in his room, so i thought this would be ideal, now i am no stranger to the odd settins on a PC but after (and i am really not telling lies here)getting intouch with alo (after trying to set it up myself about seven times)11 times on live help they could not manage to set me up so they told me to ring up technical department, I have done this four times with each time not less than 76 minutes each time (at 0.07pence p/min)still not managed to get it working , they said in the end to get intouch with Dell and tell them that the internet explorer does not work and wont load the pages up after reinstalling them with aol, they said Dell would sort this problem out , can anyone tell me if this is true and is it the thing to do, I am still under warranty with them , is it there problem or aol`s or mine ,,,Thanks in advance for any of your kind replies. Bill

It's been a long time since I've thought about an AOL problem (don't know anyone with AOL, anymore)...

I don’t know what you’ve already tried, but see if this guide (“click here”) for AOL Broadband and a D-Link Router, might help some…

Remember to reset the "cable modem" (unplug AC power & wait 3-5 min. before powering it back up and wait for the LEDs to sync-up) before connecting a Router or a PC to the cable modem.

Aloha,
Rod
