Help PowerConnect 6224 not routing?

Help please

I have PowerConnect 6224 and 10 PowerConnect 2324 switches connected together. Each 2324 hosts the connection from a classroom. I want the 6224 to allow me to ip each classroom with seperate ip addresses. Ie for classroom1 I want 192.168.1.x, for room2 i want 192.168.2.x so on and so forth. I have a ADSL link through a Netgear DG834 using the normal 192.168.0.1 as its ip address. I want all rooms to be seperate but still haev the ability to contect out to the internet.

I though it shouldn't be too hard.... To this end I have created 10 vlans, and allocated them these ip ranges I think and created ip addresses for the ports.

I have found the documentation rather hard to use hence this posting.

From classroom1 I can ping it's default gateway 192.168.1.1, and all of the other ports for all the other rooms, ie 192.168.7.1 for room 7, however I cannot ping the Netgear nor the switch's ip of 192.168.0.254. I have also set return ip address's for the route to the classroom.

Does anyone know where I'm going wrong or point me in the right direction ? as this is supposed to be live already.

Thanks In advance
