Display Out Of Range During Boot

On servers I've set up recently, I'm getting Out Of Range messages during boot.  I get the Dell "BIOS splash screen" for a few seconds, and then it's Out Of Range until partway through Windows showing the spinning wheel.

This is causing problems, because I can't see menus to do boot-level configuration (System Setup, Lifecycle Control, etc.).  For example, I'm trying to figure out how to set up the iDRAC Network on R450 servers I'm getting in (on 2U, I can do it through the front bezel interface, but 1U servers don't have that).

What resolution is the system trying to display?  Is it changeable?  Or do I need to start looking for a differnt KVM model that can do the correct resolution?

The Out Of Range message during boot may be caused by incompatible display resolution settings. Solutions include adjusting settings in BIOS or using a different KVM model for correct resolution support.

Hello,

That's right what Tommy mentioned, "Out Of Range" message during boot on your servers indicates that the system is attempting to display a resolution that is not supported by your current display or KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) setup. This can cause difficulties in accessing boot-level configuration menus such as System Setup or Lifecycle Control.

But @sannoh your Dell Optiplex 3010 is a desktop PC so this is the wrong section for your PC. This section is for enterprise devices. Please create a new thread for your regarding post on desktop optiplex category. Our community will help it on the correct category.

It sounds like the issue may be related to the graphics driver settings or compatibility with the new i3 processor. First, try updating the graphics drivers on your Dell 3010 to ensure they are compatible with the new processor. You can do this by going to the manufacturer's website and downloading the latest drivers for your specific model.

If updating the drivers does not solve the problem, you may need to check the display settings on your computer. Make sure that the external monitor is set as an extended display or duplicate display in the settings. Sometimes a simple adjustment in these settings can resolve connectivity issues between your computer and external monitor.

If these steps do not work, it may be helpful to consult with a technical support specialist or contact Dell customer service for further assistance in troubleshooting and resolving this issue.
