FC Utilization if we use DDS
HI ,
I have a Exchange server running with NMM2.4 , The Average backup speed is around 20 MB/S if we use a Dedicated Backup VLAN . I have plann to implement DDS only for the Exchange server Backup . Kindly let me know if I implement DDS for Exchange backup , whether this will utilize the FC-SAN Utilization .
Your help is much appreciated .

Hello Rajesh,
Configuring DDS will increase the backup performance to a large extent.
Yes DDS will utilize FC-SAN.
Mostly backups will be configured during off business hours. So utilization should not cause much issues.

Hi Rajesh,
Performance thru DDS (FC-SAN) should be better than dedicated VLAN. However, 20 MB/s sounds like a bottleneck in somewhere. If this happen due to Exchange burden, you'll not expect a notorious velocity increase with DDS...
