Unlocking U2711 while there is no display signal at the same time

Question

Hi;

I got a U2711 display. Somehow, i managed to get the display locked, so a padlock picture shows up each time I press the menu button (or at least this is how i assume we call the button immediately above the power button).

All tries to get it unlocked by holding the menu button pressed for 15-20 secs are useless since the unlock procedure is being interrupted by the "No HDMI Cable" message.

Connecting an HDMI cable to both of my computers didn't help and the display kept showing "No HDMI Cable" message and the lock is there each time i press the menu button.

Any ideas what could be done here? Any way to factor reset the monitor?

* Disconnect every cable from the U2711 (power, USB, HDMI, etc.)
* Press and hold in the U2711 power button for 15 seconds
* Reconnect only the power cable to the U2711
* Turn the U2711 on. What appears on screen?

When i powered on the monitor after doing exactly what you've described i saw a dell logo in blue and then immediately the bouncing message saying 'No HDMI input'. When I press the menu button, i am getting again the padlock picture.

It may be broken. Possible ways to unlock =* Press the Menu button for 15 seconds* Press the Exit button for 15 seconds* Press both the Menu and Exit buttons for 15 seconds

My HDMI input is definitely broken, but I don't really need it, I can use my displayport input instead. I am trying to get the monitor forget it was connected to HDMI last time, so it doesn't look for it as initial option.

Are you suggesting i try all those one at a time, or do them all? Should the power cable be connected when i try those?

I am convinced it try all these different combinations already, but the power cable was connected when i did that, except for the option u mentioned in the previous reply.

Nop, that didn't help. 'NO HDMI input' insists and padlock won't go away. Now, i have officially disassembled my monitor and the problem still persistent. There must be away to hard reset the monitor in someway...
