U2723QE, change USB-C upstream port to downstream?
I have a Dell U2723QE and was surprised by the lack of downstream USB-C ports. Is there any way to turn the USB-C upstream port (#8 in the manual) into USB-C downstream? The only real downstream USB-C downstream port (#15) is at a very awkward location and I would very much like to be able to use port 8 for that.
P.S. I'm using USB-C port #5 to connect to my laptop thus making the upstream USB-C obsolete.

According to the documentation, #8 is upstream only. There is nothing in the Menu OSD that could change the port direction.
"surprised by the lack of downstream USB-C ports"
That statement is confusing to me. The sales page was clear on the port capability?

@DELL-Chris M Is this a software or hardware limitation? Can the firmware be fixed to treat as a downstream port instead?
Do you have any models with USB-C ports only? No you don't.

"Can the firmware be fixed to treat as a downstream port instead?"
No. That would go against the "sold as" manufacturer design.
