U2720Q to S2722DC, daisy chain, MacBook

Hello,

I just received a Dell S2722DC monitor to add as a second monitor alongside a U2720Q display. The U2720Q is connected to a MacBook via USB-C. But I cannot seem to establish a connection between the newly added S2722DC to the U2720Q? I tried using the supplied USB-C to C cable and a non-Dell HDMI to HDMI cable. I am thinking to buy a DisplayPort to USB-C cable to connect it to the DisplayPort on the U2720Q and to the USB-C port on the S2722DC but I am not sure if that will work? I would appreciate any suggestions on how to get the setup to work.

Thank you

There is some confusion here. Neither of those monitors have the required DP out port to facilitate a MST DP daisy chain. Each monitor will need to connect to the MacBook.

Hello Chris,

Thank you for the help. Indeed I was under the impression I could link each monitor especially if the brand is similar. Can you advise on which 27inch monitor from Dell allows MST DP daisy chain to the U2720Q? I would like to keep using the U2720Q for its resolution and fit another 27 inch screen in the configuration. I am ok leaving the S2722DC out then.

Will either one of the following screens also fill the daisy chain feature?

- P2720D

- P2723D

- P2720DC

Thank you very much for the help in getting the setup working!

The U2722DE has the DP out port and USB-C video data port.
