U2715H, distortion

I just bought a U2715H. I took it out the box and set it up. I used it for about an hour and then i went out for a bit and I came back to a horribly distorted image. I took a photo an image on my U2715H and my working laptop with the same phone to give you an idea. The issue is that the color looks off and there are small vertical lines across the entire screen. I know that the issue is with the U2715H as the U2715H has the lines when no computer is connected to it.

Dell has some sort of diagnostic program preinstalled, where it displays different colours. Light grey seems to be fine, the pink has the vertical lines, green is fine, blue has the lines, black.darker grey has the lines, white has red lines going across it and the final page of the self test has the following image. I think my picture show cases the issue pretty clearly.

Any idea what the problem might be. Dells support centre is only open 9-6 on weekdays which is when I work so any help on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated

So i read the 'Read this first before posting', after posting. I have already 'hard reset' the monitor, I've factory reset it as well using the osd. When i was taking picture of the whole diagnostic, i didn't think they added anything, but i'll post them anyway.

There is no such monitor as U2517H, so you must have the U2715H. When looking at your pictures, it seems odd that both your laptop LCD panel and the U2715H show the same line pattern in the center. What is the 20 digit S/N? From whom did you purchase this U2715H? When you did the hard reset, did you disconnect the power cable from the monitor and press/hold in the power button for at least 10 seconds?
