U2410, Screen Wrinkles?
I have three 24" Dell Ultrasharp displays in a row and a 46" Insignia LCD TV above them. My left-most display, a Dell U2410, has some wavy areas where it's dark. It's not super noticeable at all times, but when that part of the screen is showing a mid-tone solid color, it become very apparent.
I don't believe the display is still under warranty, though I'm not sure. If it is, I'd like to know how to go about getting it exchanged. If it isn't, I'd like to know where I can find more information on repairing this issue myself.
I've attached an image illustrating the issue...
* Was the monitor purchased directly from Dell or some reseller? And when?
Not sure, I have two U2410s and one U2415. I believe one of the U2410s was purchased from Dell and the other was Refurbished through Dell but available from a third party on Amazon. Don't remember exactly and don't know which is which.
* What is the 20 digit alpha-numeric monitor serial number and A0x revision?
MX-0C592M-72875-07F-8LLL
* To what computer model is the monitor attached?
Custom Build; i7 2600K, 32GB RAM
* What video card/GPU is in the computer?
Nvidia GTX 760
* What video out ports are on the video card/GPU or computer?
DP, HDMI, DVI-I, DVI-D
* List all monitor cables and adapters attached to the computer and the ports they are using and how they are connecting to the monitor.
GTX 760 (DVI-I Out) > DVI-I to VGA adapter > VGA to VGA cable > U2410 (VGA in) - Left "Wrinkled" Display
GTX 760 (DP Out) > DP to mDP cable > U2415 (mDP In) - Main/Center Display
GTX 760 (DVI-D Out) > DVI-D to DVI-D > U2410 (DVI-D In) - Right Display
GTX 760 (HDMI Out) > HDMI to HDMI > Insignia 46" NS-46L780A12 LCD TV (HDMI In) - Top Center
* What operating system is installed on the computer?
Windows 10 v.1703
* What Windows power plan?
High performance, PCI-e Link State Off
* If functional in Windows, press the monitor Menu button to open the monitor OSD (On Screen Display). The bottom of that screen should show a resolution. What is listed?
All 3 Ultrasharps are 1920x1200, the Insignia LCD TV is 1920x1080

The smearing is the yogore/mura defect. I have yet to see anyone disassemble a monitor and fix this. The U2410 was built on July 15, 2010. The warranty expired on July 15, 2013.
