S3220DGF, screen cracked

Hello,

I purchased a 32" S3220DGF curved gaming monitor from Best Buy less than 3 months ago. The screen on it cracked overnight the other day. I know, I know if there is a crack there MUST have been accidental physical damage but hear me out. I've been trying to get in touch with Dell to at least address the issue. Calling technical support gets me nowhere. I hadn't transferred the warranty and they tell me to call Best Buy (after multiple transfers to incorrect departments). Thankfully this forum exists as I was able to find the transfer instructions here. So I still have at least 10 business days until the warranty might be transferred but I haven't received any reply (outside of the automated) to my email inquiry.

Now on to the actual S3220DGF. This is a single hairline crack running from the top to the bottom of the S3220DGF and it is all internal, there is no damage to the outer layer or signs of external force of any kind. I've uploaded some photos below.

My main question: Is it physically possible that this is manufacturing problem (ie tension from the bezel and the panel, internal stress, an internal component that broke and initiated the crack?) and if not what was the likely accidental cause on my part. In other words, what action would have produced this problem?

Has anyone experienced anything like this or has this ever been seen in the lab or been reported to Dell before? I was able to find one other example but not with a Dell monitor. The person here has what looks to be the exact same crack on their curved AOC monitor (also claims that it was spontaneous). It is uncanny!

Dell says they won't cover accidental damage. It is frustrating that Dell support immediately brushes cracks off as accidental damage although I realize the vast majority are. I am more than happy to send the S3220DGF into Dell for further inspection - assuming there is an actual way to tell if this damage was a manufacturing defect or not.

At the end of the day I guess I got super unlucky but buying two of these S3220DGF is not cheap.

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the private S3220DGF Service Tag number, but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

Hello,

I purchased a Dell monitor from Best Buy and can't seem to get the warranty activated. The purchase was in March 2020. I try to follow the directions here but I don't get anywhere. If I go to register product the detect product button is grayed out and does not let me manually enter a service tag number. Because of this I submitted an ownership transfer request but it was denied (but does not tell me why it was denied). I realized there was no place to upload my receipt in the request, which I imagine is vital information. How is this process supposed to work?
