S2722QC, dock, XPS 15 9530, stopped working

About 3 or 4 hours into using for the first time, my S27722QC monitoring has decided to intermittently work. The screen goes blank/black for a few seconds, the timing seems random and sporadic, and varying durations. I have downloaded the Dell Display Manager and it's telling me that the drivers are up to date. The monitor is connected through a third party dock via HDMI to my Dell XPS 15 9530. Help please.

Ended up using the online chat support and the problem was eventually resolved. Cheers

Remove the 3rd party dock from the troubleshooting. Test the S2722QC directly to the End of Life XPS 15 9530.|

XPS 15 9530 HDMI out port --> HDMI to HDMI cable --> S2722QC HDMI #1 port
-then-
XPS 15 9530 HDMI out port --> HDMI to HDMI cable --> S2722QC HDMI #2 port

@DELL-Chris M Hi, are you suggesting I connect the monitor to my laptop via HDMI? I would but there isn't an HDMI port on my XPS 15 9530...... Only USB C and connecting via this cable does nothing

The monitor is now connecting via USB-C but I'm now having sound issues! I've connected my XPS 15 9530 to my S2722QC monitor. Now sound will only play through the monitor, and the sound is poor/low and no ability to adjust as it needs to be at 100% volume just to hear it. I have changed that output to the Realtek speakers on the laptop but it still plays through the monitor. I would prefer to use the laptop for sound as it's giving great volume control.

I see the problem. We have two XPS 15 9530 =

2013 XPS 15 9530 with HDMI and mDP

2023 XPS 15 9530 with two TB4/USB-C

* Open the S2722QC Menu
* Go to Audio
* Change Speaker to Disable

Please reply to this thread and do not start new threads.

I did not state to check Audio in DDM. I stated to enter the monitor menu itself.

* Open the S2722QC Menu
* Go to Audio
* Change Speaker to Disable

See the online S2722QC User's Guide page 38 for its Menu and the Audio section.

That didn't work. Disable the speakers and got no sound at all.

So you entered the S2722QC Menu, went to Audio, chose Disable. Then exited the S2722QC Menu.

Then in Windows Sound you de-selected DELL S2722QC and selecting Speakers Realtek (R) Audio.

It should have then sent all audio to the Laptop speakers?

Hey Chris,

That is what I did, but just to double check, I did it again this morning and I am getting no sound from the laptop (Realtek(R) Audio) and when I've disconnected my laptop from the monitor there is no sound at all.

Cheers,

If the Laptop is NOT connected to any monitor, are you saying that NO audio is coming from the Laptop built-in speakers? If yes, the fault is Laptop, not the monitor.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. I have been on live chat today. Eventually they advised to F2 during start up to identify whether audio was enabled and then to toggle it, which I did. It seemed to have fixed the issue. However, the same issue has returned
