S2417DG, color flashing at standby or when pc is off

Issue in the title. When my computer is on standby or powers off the monitor flashes a few different colors, slowly. S2417DG is exactly 2 years old. 
things I have done so far - 
- I have unplugged the power and held the power button for 30 seconds
- reset the monitor to factory settings
- updated all the drivers possible
- tried to uncheck burn in pattern (whatever that means)
- tried to use the S2417DG on a different computer with the same results

Most threads I have seen on the issue continue on a private conversation so i'm yet to find a solution.

I'd love some help on the manner!
